Ben over the last two years of his college career was flawless. His first two years were not half bad either, each time going losing in the finals of the NCAA tournament. Ben Askren will mostly be remembered for the entertaining fashion he wrestled his matches. He always had fun and always put on a show for the fans.
In 2008 he won the U.S. Nationals and Olympic trials and competed in the Bejing games. Since then he has continued on as an volunteer wrestling coach and has begun training mma at American Top Team in Columbia, MO. His first fight is likely to be in early 2009.

I would have to side with the cop with regards to Ben's driving habits; I myself have fallen victim to Ben's less than skilful driving abilities in Las Vegas. However, in response to all the negative feedback about cop comments- any person that derives their income from taxpayers automatically should be open to any and all criticism! 1.9 federal employees 2008 (federal, not state level) 36 fired last year for inompetency, 1 trillion in unfunded liabilities for their pensions, 120K average sallery, WHAT A WASTE! Get a private sector job and actually create wealth, don't rely on others. So all those cop lovers (government employees) out there, get a clue!
disrespectful to cops, can't drive, stubborn, arrogant, you should be in jail. i don't care if you're a 2x nat'l champ i still don't like you because of your attitude.
Askren are you loco this video will end up being used as evidence for your next court case as your testimonial for not being respectful of driving as a privilege
Raider82....chill out on the cop thing. Some cops are straight jerks and you know it. One guy in north jersey got a ticket for honking his horn leaving a parking lot at one of the other coaches from a little league game, just trying to say hi. explain that one? Come cops are just straight S
Come on fighting a cop... if you can't tell the sarcasm in that then you have issues, or you just don't like Askren. But the guy is well known so you gotta expect people to hate on him, I mean who doesn't drop f-bombs now and again?
being a bad driver is not a joke Ben. A car is like a loaded gun. You can kill
someone or be killed yourself. For such a great athlete you should really go to a driving school. This is no joke. You should be ashamed of your driving record and you may have to spend some time in jail for you to realize that.
Dang dude, Scott Schatzman's his lawyer?! That guy went about 141-0 in high school and I think he AA-ed twice at Northwestern. And if he can get Askren off the hook he's gotta be a good lawyer too :).
On the way back from his fight in Iowa last August, Ben Askren got pulled over and then started to tell us about his driving history. This guy has been in accidents and had tickets all over the place. This is just the first video in a 5 part series, stay tuned for more. January 14, 2010

Maybe his girlfriend should wear a helmet.
