The individualism and accountability of wrestling made him love and follow the sport. In college he wrestled at Oklahoma State where he was a NCAA finalist losing to Cael Sanderson. Since college he has ruled in the US at his freestyle weight. In 2004 Athens Olympics he narrowly missed going to the finals and then narrowly missed medaling.
Daniel Cormier Post Fight Daniel Cormier talks about his excitement after his first mma fight, he said its the most excited he has been since the 2004 Olympic Games.
