Just over two years ago, Daniel Cormier was at a Strikeforce event just soaking it all in and getting ready to make his debut. Now he's in the finals of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.

How did Cormier make it here in such a short amount of time?

Well, according to the former two time Olympian it all came down to hard work and determination and he showed that by beating Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva on Saturday night in Cincinnati.

While his hand it hurting after the fight, Cormier is hoping to duplicate that same success when he faces Josh Barnett in 2012 for the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix title.

Check out this exclusive one on one interview with Daniel Cormier:

Daniel Cormier grew up in probably one of the most least likely places for a World Class wrestler to grow up...Louisiana. The individualism and accountability of wrestling made him love and follow the sport. In college he wrestled at Oklahoma State where he was a NCAA finalist losing to Cael Sanderson. Since college he has ruled in the US at his freestyle weight. In 2004 Athens Olympics he narrowly missed going to the finals and then narrowly missed medaling.
