its funny how one guy says ben is gonna get worked by thomas, which he obviously didnt, and another guy said the only reason he has won any fights is because he hasn't fought anyone good... isnt thomas a ufc veteran? |

hey asdfadsfasdfadsfasfdsaf, get a life. You have no right to say that stuff if your gonna hide you name and act like you have the right to criticize his fighting. I'd like to see you in the cage with him. |

LOL at all those guys who said he got lucky and was gonna get worked against Ryan Thomas the second time, Thomas never even had Askren close to being in danger. |

k, that taunt at the end was totally unnecessary as i, no joke, probably can give him a ktfo in 10 secs, or most fighters who train for a day. he'll never make it big in mma. he's only winning right now because he's fighting shits. he should stick to wrestling. |

looking good just need to attack that takedown right away even though you got it fairly easy, your striking needs to get deadly or your gona face someone with good striking and there gonna light you up now iknow you can elude that with great wrestling but the really good fighters no all the loopholes |

ben will be competing in ADCC 2009, the worlds tuffest grappling tournament, it will be interesting to see how he compares with the likes of marcelo garcia, gsp, pablo popovitch, Kron Gracie, Bill Cooper, just to name a few... his wrestling will be great as we all know but i dont think he can hang in that field with his bjj skill set... it is great dont get me wrong but not up there with those guys... im wondering if gsp will even place in that field... i hope he does hes back down training with Renzo for it so we will see |

i have a very important question for all wrestlers. would a funk roll work in mma? i dont see any thing that is wrong with it. it may open you up for foot locks but i dont know of any footlocks that can be used in that situation.i think it would nuetralize a better wrestler's wrestling. Are there any trainers or fighters who think otherwise? |

Bruce Lee in the octagon hell thats a great question he is very strong dispite his size so he would almost always be underestimated not to mention the speed and force he could create I guess it would depend on the fight match up. he was awesome at what he did but when you put the ground in the mix he may have been lost. Hell good question |

askren has a hell of a long ways to go, and can keep fighting these guys they pulled off a bar stool. i love the guy but this is pitiful.i hope he stays with wrestling. wait till he runs into a puncher. |

Owe hell ya no doubt that Askren has a nice base and starting point but in the same token so does Matt as for the striking ya needs work but all the same even with Askens freestyle it still took awhile for him to gain the control its a great fight to talk about. To be honest I guess I was wrong the fight wasnt impressive to me but the 2 fighters showed alot of potential I truly expect to see some great fights come from both of these guys. Matt maybe talk to your trainer and if your going to fight at 170lbs walk around at 190lbs instead of 205 ya the weight is great and all but I am wondering if the impact of that kind of drop played a role. Hell what do I know I could be dead wrong. ; )your right on. fighter will understand that the muscle mass makes you slow and have bad conditioning. some guys need to start training the way bruce lee train. Another question is how would Bruce Lee fair in a fight ???????? |

Asdfgasdf lets leave the insults out of this I am intitled to my opinion as is everyone else but if you wanna run your mouth you can just go F**** yourself you cowardly ass B**** its about fun and the sport. With that being said I liked the comment that Tex said the "dont even compare ben to gsp. ok first of all gsp is a beast hes olny the welter weight champoin for a reason" yes Ben is agreat wrestler but this is about mma. |

We have a winner. Drew Bappe hit the nail on the head. Ben NEVER looks good in competition, but always comes out on top. The guy is a freak of nature with an extraordinarily stong mental game. |

Always liked watching Ben wrestling in college, but this is the second time for me watching him MMA and its flat out ugly. He moves awkwardly, no punching skills, leaves himself open. Anyone with decent boxing and kicking skills will destroy him. |

I don't follow mma much at all, but from what I've read, it seems like lots of people are unimpressed with how Ben looks so far. Let me tell you, Ben never LOOKED very impressive wrestling either. He was so slow, methodical, and almost sloppy looking. But guess what? He fricking pinned everybody with his unorthodox style. Doesn't suprise me that Ben doesn't LOOK impressive, yet continues to win. |

You can hear GPS even say he think wrestling is the most important part of his MMA training. http://www.purefight.org/videos/play/145316-georges-st-pierre |
