Alan Belcher goes through an intense strength and conditioning workout at the Athlete Factory in Mobile, AL. This training session was long and painful but he pushed through it and did as directed by his trainer Lyle.

Ok let's see here... Alan goes through these tough workouts, all you people come on here talking about how bad the trainer is, how poor his form is etc... then Alan goes out and wins in fight of the night against Gouveia... hmmm? |

It's called cross training guys. People do circuits to work a lot of muscle groups in one workout, along with blasting your lungs to help with cardio. This looked more like an explosive and conditioning strength workout versus pure power. |

Ok, for starters most of the stuff he did, he did with piss poor form. Second, I don`t like how much he`s sweating and panting in a stenght and power session. If you`re doing heavy lifting and plyometrics you should take enough rest between reps so that you can use 100% power, speed and control in every rep. We`re talking 3 minutes at the very least. You shouldn`t sweat like that unless you`re working out in the middle of the desert. And if you have form, start gasping for air and slowing down then you`re just wasting your time. Keep your cardio sessions for cardio and your strenght and power sessions for strenght and power. |

Lots of good exercise choices performed with poor technique.. And if this was all in one day then these trainers should lose their jobs.. You people who think this is "hardcore" etc.. Realize one thing, ANY TRAINER can make you sweat and tired but a REAL TRAINER trains you to be more efficient! |

First of all, chains are meant to mimic the strength curve. They deload toward the bottom and reload toward the top. Its called accomodating resistance. And, not that my opinion matters, but this trainer is way too into the whole "long hard workout where you hurt the next day are great" mentality. He had a whole mess of different stimulus going into ONE workout. He has a LOAD of plyos, a TON of olympic lifts, and then squats too? That's way too much volume going into the lower body for one workout. Then theres the conditioning aspect. At no point did the timing or rest intervals mimic the way a fighter's body will be stressed during a fight. This was just an asskicker, not a smart workout. But again, I'm just an internet warrior. |

wow I hope this guy only does this one or 2 days a week but looks like he may be doing a tad to much I just hope his trainer is paying close attention to him this guy is going to push his but off for his trainer because he trusts his trainer. So trainer please pay attention to your fighter! |
