Ozarks Redemption

In conjunction with Firstblood MMA, Fuel Fight Club presents Ozark’s Redemption on August 8th at the Country Club Hotel & Spa.  We kick off the night with a meet and greet in the hotel lobby at 5:30 with our celebrity guest Clay “The Carpenter” Guida. Thedoors open at 6:00 pm where Clay will continue to be available for pictures and autographs inside the auditorium.  The fight starts at 7:30 pm.  It promises to be yet another high flying action packed Mixed Martial Arts event.  This fight card is a Professional fight with an under card and features local professional fighters Kristen Rambo, Chad Vandenburg, and Jose Vega.  We will also have the lovely Bryan’s Gym & Big shot’s Knock Out Girls at the event.  You don’t want to miss these professional fighters going toe to toe in the ring. 

In addition to all of the great fights we have lined up, we will have a Meet and Greet at the Shady Gators with UFC fighter, Clay “The Carpenter” Guida!  Meet and talk to this dynamic UFC warrior in person at 5:30, Friday, August 7. A UFC lightweight contender since 2006, this “tough as nails” fighter is different from the typical.  With his comparatively slighter build and wild-man hair, Guida stands out in a crowd.  This never-say-stop fighter has faced some of the toughest in the light weight division.  Guida doesn’t seem to have a consistent style except that he will outwork, out-condition, and keep continuous pressure on his opponents until they make the fatal mistake. Then he’s there to snatch the victory. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet this UFC soldier!

Fighter’s Corner

Kristen Rambo (145 lbs) is currently 1-0 as a professional.  Originally from the Ozarks, she has a solid background as a boxer, and looks forward to demonstrating these and other MMA skills to her fans in the cage. So come out and support your girl!

Chad  Vandenburg (135 lbs) remains undefeated with a record of 4-0. This well rounded professional fighter and submission artist hales from the Kansas City area. When he steps into the cage anything could happen! Will he maintain this perfect record? 

 Jose Vega (135 lbs) of Knob Noster possesses a professional record of 6-1.  He began as a street fighter and folk-style wrestler and is currently perfecting his ju jitsu.  What an exciting fighter! Look for powerful striking and superb submission skills.

Michael Johnson (155lbs) of Springfield has a record of 4-4. At our last fight, War Cry, in April, he manned-up taking a last minute fight to pound, dominate, and defeat Clay French (from is Matt Hughes’ team, The Hit Squad).

Brian Phillips, of Sedalia, has a professional record of 1-1. This never-give-up freestyle fighter has a background in wrestling and also possesses knock out power.  Look for an exciting match!

Josh Phillips, also of Sedalia, possesses a record of 1-0.  With a background in wrestling, this slippery, freestyle fighter finds the way to win! Eddie Granado has a professional fight record of 1-1.  From the school of hard knocks, this street fighter might just surprise us with some powerful knock out punches.  Eddie always promises an exciting show!
