Shawn Thompkins has been doing martial arts since he was 6 years old and opened up his own gym when he was 18. He started doing mma about 10 years ago with Bas Rutten. He worked with Dan Henderson and Team Quest before he started coaching in Las Vegas at Xtreme Couture. This gym is successful because of their leader, Randy Couture. Top fighters are successful because they have an open mind. He feels it is important to compete for yourself and the reason he was successful because he knows how to turn it on and turn it off.
