Owings over Gable in 1970 Could Chael Sonnen become the next Larry Owings... who is Larry Owings? Larry Owings is the man who beat Dan Gable in the NCAA finals, Gable's senior year of college, after finishing high school undefeated and go...
For all of you complaining about Rashad Evans' performance against Rampage last weekend, Wake UP! This is MIXED martial arts. People said it was boring, I didn't think so, I was entertained in seeing if he could implement his gameplan, and we all knew what that was, against an angry Rampage. People said they wanted to see Rashad stand in front of Rampage and go toe-to-toe... why the hell would he want to do that? So he could get knocked out? Rashad's not an idiot and he obviously knew that he was facing a guy with plent...

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas, I am home in St. Louis visiting with most of my family. Two of my brothers are not in town because they are visiting their in-laws but not to fear as 3 of my brothers and my sister are all here. The best part about 2 of my older brothers being out of town for this holiday means that I will be able to sit at the adult table today (I am 30 years old and had to sit at the kids table for Thanksgiving when all were in town). I hope you are all having a great time with friends and family and I will continue to feat...

So it is the middle of my 2 week road trip and wow what a trip its been. Started off in Biloxi visiting with Alan Belcher, I spent 2 nights at his house and got several videos to put together of him, his training and his gym Remix MMA. The Purefight team is in the process of redesigning both his personal website as well as his Remix website, look for those to be redone and updated soon. I had talked to Alan on the phone but this was the first time I met him in person, I got to know him and quickly learned that he is a great guy, down to earth ...
Well last night was a little disappointing to say the least. I live in Austin, TX and found a fight to cover in San Antonio yesterday which was put on by the Southwest Fight League. I thought something seemed strange having an mma event in the middle of the week but figured, what the hell, I'm always looking for mma events to cover so I went. I convinced my good friend Joe from Flowrestling to come with me and help with the coverage. I was relieved to see the cage in place and all the chairs set up at the venue when we arrived. We got our media...
Vegas- Having misplaced my drivers license I had a temporary one faxed to me from the DMV, turns out Las Vegas rental car places won't accept anything photo copied so I couldn't rent a car. Thanks to Gene Stevens for saving the day by picking me up and brining me to the MMA seminar and expo at the MGM, not to be confused with the UFC fan expo which took place on Friday at Mandalay Bay. I attended both but enjoyed the one at MGM more, even though there wasn't as much going on it was way less crowded and easier to get around. I got a chance to m...
My most recent trip was a great one, I visited 7 gyms, went to the best amateur mma event I have ever been to and drove over 1,000 miles in 4 days. It started when I flew into Los Angeles last Thursday. I drove down to San Diego where I visited 3 gyms, the last one being Brandon Vera's Alliance Training Center where I spent a couple hours hanging out shooting videos. I drove back up to Fullerton and stayed with my friend Chris Carlino for the night. The next day I drove to Torrance to check out the Gracie Academy, from the moment I walked insi...
I have attended a number of mma events from California to Florida and in between, and last night in Nashville just reconfirmed something that I have seen on both coasts and in between, complete unappreciation of the sport of mma and the constant booing and criticizing. Now this doesn't come from everyone or even most, but there are plenty of guys sitting up in the stands who "know everything about mma" and they kinda get on my nerves. These are the casual mma fans who don't really get it all the way, they want to see a Stephan Bonnar-Forrest G...
